PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feeding unit for easily complying even when the number of dielectric barrier discharge type external electrode fluorescent lamps (EEFL) 21 to be connected increases, and reducing manufacturing cost.;SOLUTION: The feeding unit is so structured that two socket assemblies 30 for the external electrode fluorescent lamp comprising a socket 22 which is formed of a bar shaped conductive material having soft rubber elasticity, and includes a harness connection part 221 on one end and a plurality of lamp insertion holes 220 with an interval in a longitudinal direction, and a socket holder 23 of flame retardant insulating material which covers the socket, and covers up a surface of the socket requiring insulation, and maintain a shape of the socket are arranged with positional relation of 180° rotational symmetry, and a feeding harness 25 from a high frequency power supply 24 is connected with the respective harness connection parts of both of the socket assemblies for the external electrode fluorescent lamp.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
