PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of impeding proper handling such as pulling up a seismograph for repair or replacement in the case of a failure or the like in a conventional method of extension-excavating a seismometer installation hole at the lower part of an upper seismometer guide pipe inserted in an excavated seismograph installation well, filling hardening delay cement therein, and embedding the seismograph therein for earthquake wave observation. SOLUTION: The seismograph installed at this elevating seismograph installation device in the ground is cut off from noise transmitted from the ground surface to the seismograph in the ground. Only the accurate earthquake waves are thereby received and recorded, and the seismograph can be elevated for repair and replacement when necessary in the case of a failure or the like.
