PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate a radio wave arrival direction by discriminating and removing a grating lobe without increasing the number of antenna element nor causing any problem of mounting. ;SOLUTION: This device is equipped with an equal-interval linear array antenna 1 constituted by arraying antenna elements 11 to 1n having different characteristics represented by amplitude characteristics and phase characteristics at equal intervals larger than half wavelength, a radio reception part 2 composed of radio receivers 21 to 2n which demodulate and convert radio signals received by the antenna elements into complex reception base band signals, an AD conversion part 3 composed of AD converters 31 to 3n which digitize the complex reception base band signals and generate digital complex reception base band signals, an arrival direction estimating process part 4 which estimates an arrival direction by using the complex reception base band signals, and a display means 5 which displays the estimated arrival direction; and the combination of the antenna elements is changed and a grating lobe is discriminated and removed to estimate a correct radio wave arrival direction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
