PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network copy file management system which preserves picture data obtained by reading a document on a disk in a copy system as a picture file and can transmit the picture file to a third network device. SOLUTION: Picture data obtained by a scanner part 115 are stored in the picture file and are preserved on a hard disk 13. Meanwhile, each client terminal 2 requests management information of the picture file on the hard disk 13 to a copy server 10. A control part 112 of the copy server 10 which has received the request for file management information reads out file management information related to a picture file in a request object directory from the hard disk 13 and transmits it to the client terminal of the request source. An operator transmits the picture file to the third network device in accordance with operator's operation on the basis of the file management information.
