PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nutritious supplement composition having an improved characteristic for preventing the absorption of carbohydrates. PSOLUTION: This nutritious supplement composition contains an -glucosidase inhibitor and -amylase inhibitor under the substantial absence of a lipase inhibitor. The composition can contain a touchi extract and phaseolamine as the -glucosidase inhibitor and -amylase inhibitor, respectively. The method for limiting the absorption of the carbohydrates contained in foods includes the administration of the nutritious supplement composition before the consumption of the carbohydrates, and the method for accelerating the body weight reduction of an individual person includes the administration of the nutritious supplement to the individual person over a period of several days.
