METHOD OF PRODUCING MASTER LOWER-LAYER SCHEDULE FOR MANUFACTURING REQUIREMENTS PLANNING SYSTEM

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for generating a master lower-layer schedule. PSOLUTION: The method includes the following steps: populating a multi-layer database 17 with part/supplier combinations for a finished part; populating the database 17 with lower-process steps associated with the finished part; populating the database 17 with suppliers responsible for the lower-process steps; populating the database 17 with a lead time and a lot requirement associated with each of the lower-process steps; accessing the database 17 to calculate line items of a lower-layer schedule; adding the line items to form a master lower-layer schedule on the database 17; breaking down the master lower-layer schedule for each of the suppliers; providing access to the master lower-layer schedule to a primary consumer, a first layer supplier and lower-layer suppliers; reviewing the master lower-layer schedule; and sending notification to the primary consumer and the first layer supplier if necessitated by the reviewing of the master lower-layer schedule.
