PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for selecting an apparatus connected to the port of an interface.;SOLUTION: A port registration management section 1042 acquires the connection information of each port of the interface for storing into a connection information table 1045 when a request received by a USB port monitor section 1030 is a port registration request. A port selection management section 1043 transfers connection port list display information generated based on the entire connection information in the connection information table 1045 to a printer manager section 1010, when the request received by the USB port monitor section 1030 is a port selection request. The printer manager section 1010 allows the transferred information to be displayed at a display section 105, and a user stores specified port information. A print management section 1044 transmits data to the apparatus connected to a use-specified port stored into the printer manager section 1010 when the request received by the USB port monitor section 1030 is a print request.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
