PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pyrolysis gas having a low content of aromatic hydrocarbon from a vegetable organic substance and to effectively utilize the whole energy. PSOLUTION: The pyrolytic gasification device for the vegetable organic substance comprises a carbonization furnace charged with raw material comprising vegetable organic substance; a high temperature gasification furnace charged with carbide generated in the carbonization furnace; and high temperature reforming unit into whcih the high temperature gas containing oxygen and pyrolysis gas generated in the carbonization furnace is introduced. A briquette A obtained by compression-molding vegetable organic substance as raw material is charged to the carbonization furnace 1 and carbonized matter B generated in the furnace 1 is charged to the high temperature gasification furnace 2. The pyrolysis gas C, high temperature air D and high temperature steam E are introduced to the high temperature reforming unit 3 and reformed gas F obtained in the unit 3 and from which tar is removed is introduced to the furnace 2. The carbonized matter B charged to the furnace 2 is gasified by the gas F and high temperature air to obtain gasified gas G. The gas G gasified thus is used for indirect heating of furnace 1, and fed to a generator unit 5 having a turbine 4 as fuel gas.
