PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To systematically perform establishment of a surveillance plan to determination of infection of individual patients and calculation of infection number and infection rate based on the determination. PSOLUTION: This surveillance support system for supporting a surveillance comprises a facility information input and storage means for inputting and storing facility information; a survey plan condition input and storage means for inputting and storing a survey plan condition including an object of survey, a consultation period, and infection classification; a patient information input and storage means for inputting and storing patient information; a survey plan object patient retrieval means for retrieving survey plan object patients satisfying the survey plan condition based on the patient information; an infection determination means for determining whether or not the object patients are suffering from infections; an infection starting date determination means for determining the starting date of infections; and an infection number calculation means for calculating the number of infections. By this support system, works such as determination of information needed to collect in the surveillance plan, input and arrangement of collected information, determination of infections, and calculation of the number of infections and infection rate can be reduced.
