CONTOUR DATA EXTRACTION METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR BIOMEDICAL TOMOGRAPHIC IMAGE

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contour data extraction method and an apparatus for biomedical tomographic images, which enables the automatic extraction of the contour data of the area as an object required for the building of a three-dimensional model from the biomedical tomographic images (two-dimensional biomedical images). PSOLUTION: There are an object area input step (A) for inputting the two-dimensional images of the object areas, an object area recognition step (B) in which, as for the biomedical tomographic images, the object areas on the images are recognized using the pattern recognition by a genetic algorithm based on the two-dimensional images, an image pre-processing step (C) which restricts the biomedical tomographic images to the object areas recognized, and a contour data extraction step (D) for extracting the contour data of the object areas recognized.
