PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a book distribution management method and a book return management system capable of preventing any erroneous book return. PSOLUTION: At the time of warehousing a book 1 attached with an recordable IC tag 11, a management part 31 of a book return management system 3 adds its own wholeseller code to the IC tag 11. Then, when the book 1 is returned from a bookstore after the book 1 is shipped, the managing part 31 reads the wholeseller code from the IC tag 11 attached to the returned book 1, and judges whether the returned book is a normally returned article by deciding whether the read wholeseller code is made coincident with its own wholeseller code.
