PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure economical profits while efficiently operating a large-size washing machine having a low frequency of use in the laundromat shop. PSOLUTION: The large-size washing machine is provided with a capacity switching button for selecting a small-capacity operation on the assumption of small-quantity washing. When a user presses a capacity switching button in the state of displaying an ordinary charge for use at the beginning ( S2, S3), the display is switched to a lower price for the small-capacity charge for use (S7). When a preset sum of coins are thrown into a coin throw-in port in any selection between the normal operation and the small-capacity operation (S4, S9), the normal operation and the small-capacity operation are started. In the case of small-capacity operation, washing water level and the rinsing water level is set lower than that of the ordinary operation to thereby save water. Thus, all of the small-size washing machines installed in the shop are occupied, the user can perform washing for a small amount of washings using the large-size washing machine by adding a small mount of money to the charge for use.
