PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Cu-containing age hardening type steel member which is subjected to precipitation hardening in a short time, and to provide a warm press forming method therefor. PSOLUTION: In the warm press forming method for a Cu precipitation hardening type steel member, a steel member having a composition comprising 0.7 to 2.0% Cu, and, if required, comprising one or more kinds of metals selected from 0.1 to 3.0% Mn and 0.1 to 3.0% Cr, and in which (Mn+Cr)/Cu is 0.2 is heated in a temperature range of 450 to 700C, is subjected to press forming at a strain rate of 110SP-5/SPsSP-1/SPto 510SP-2/SPsSP-1/SPwithin 2 min after the arrival at the above temperature range, and is thereafter held at 450 to 700C.
