PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a molded article with an inferior appearance from being molded, to achieve labor-saving of a molding process and to decrease molding cost by photographing a mold and a transfer film by a monitoring camera, processing a photographed image and detecting foreign substances before molding.;SOLUTION: A foreign substance monitoring device has a fixed mold supporting device on which a fixed mold 12 is fitted, a movable mold supporting device on which a movable mold 15 is fitted, a transfer film carrying device for carrying intermittently a transfer film 25 on which a transfer foil 26 is stuck so as to pass it through a cavity position, a monitoring camera 21 fitted on either the fixed mold 12 or the movable mold 15, and for photographing a mating surface of the fixed mold 12 or the movable mold 15 and the transfer film 25, and a control device for processing the photographed image taken by the monitoring camera 21 and monitoring whether the foreign substances are stuck on the mating surface or the transfer film 25.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
