PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deep blue-based ornamental glaze for pottery which hardly causes the fading or the blurring of the contour of a pattern, a character or a symbol when a mark or the like composed of the pattern, the character or the symbol is baked by firing after dyed or printed on the glazed surface of pottery or the like and to provide a sanitary ware using the same and a method of manufacturing the same.;SOLUTION: The ornamental glaze is obtained controlling so that the content of zirconium (Zr) per total metal in a pigment component in the ornamental glaze is 31-50 wt.% expressed in terms of oxide, the content of cobalt (Co) per total metal in a pigment component in the ornamental glaze is 1-11 wt.% expressed in terms of oxide, the content of chromium (Cr) per total metal in a pigment component in the ornamental glaze is 1-14 wt.% expressed in terms of oxide and the content of nickel (Ni) per total metal in a pigment component in the ornamental glaze is 0.2-3 wt.% expressed in terms of oxide.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
