ANTENNA UNIT AND METHOD OF IMPROVING INSULATION BETWEEN A PLURALITY OF MICROSTRIP ANTENNA ARRAYS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna unit capable of insulating between antennas at a high level of insulation, being compact, and obtaining a high level gain at low cost.;SOLUTION: The antenna unit formed to be a hollow box shape is provided with (1) a substrate for forming the front side of the antenna unit, (2) a first microstrip antenna array formed on the substrate, (3) a second microstrip antenna array formed on the substrate, (4) a grounding surface, and (5) a plurality of periodic filters formed on the grounding surface. The periodic filters are formed as a series of circular patterns passed thorugh the grounding surface or by etching holes. A periodic stop band filter improves insulation between microstrip antenna arrays without requiring an additional cost or a space which occupies a space for components.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
