The hydrocarbon raw materials stream, those which boil in the especially naphtha range, the cobalt and the VIth family metal above the kind which is selected from the group which consists of the molybdenum and the tungsten supporting in the fireproof carrier, the method of removing sulfur chemical compound from the aforementioned raw materials stream by making contact with the adsorbent which becomes, is disclosed. In addition as for this invention, it attaches the naphtha raw materials stream on selective desulfurization first, excessively without being saturated olefin it regards the method of removing the sulfur. The product stream is produced including mercaptan, but it is removed due to the fact that this uses the cobalt content adsorbent of this invention.
