PROGRAMMABLE GLITCH FILTER FOR ASYNCHRONOUS DATA COMMUNICATION INTERFACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for filtering a glitch within a data communication controller for receiving an asynchronous input data signal having a predetermined input bit period and sending an output data signal corresponding to the input data signal while changing between two signal levels representing two bit values.;SOLUTION: With respect to the glitch which occurs in the input data signal, it is detected with a glitch detector that the signal level having a predetermined duration shorter than the predetermined input bit term is inverted. The input data signal is sampled in a sampling clock rate by a glitch detector to generate a sequence of input data samples. The input data samples of a predetermined voting number are monitored by a voting unit to represent a value of most of input data samples constituting the sequence. Input data samples of a following voting number are monitored to represent a value of most of following input data samples.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
