PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water base rust preventive which is applied to the surface of steel, galvanized steel, aluminum, and an aluminum alloy, and forms a film having excellent rust preventability thereon.;SOLUTION: The water base rust preventive composition comprises each component of (1) oxidized α-olefin, (2) oxidized wax, (3) wax other than the oxidized wax, (4) the sodium salt of organic sulfonic acid having a molecular weight of ≥470, (5) amine, and (6) glycol ether. On the basis of the weight of each component, [1] provided that (1)+(2)=100, (1) lies in the range of 10 to 100; [2] provided that (1)+(2)+(3)=100, (3) lies in the range of 50 to 85, and (4) lies in the range of 2 to 15; [3] provided that (1)+(2)+(3)+(4)=100, (6) satisfies ≥10; and [4] (5) is composed in an amount equivalent to an amine value equivalent of 1 to 5 times to the acid value of (1)+(2).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
