BOX HOUSING TYPE OPTICAL CABLE CONCENTRATOR AND OPTICAL CABLE EXCESS LENGTH TREATING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply, easily and quickly perform connector connection and release of an optical cable and to miniaturize a box, in a box housing type optical cable concentrator installed and used outdoors.;SOLUTION: A wiring board 3 is disposed inside the deep surface of a box 2 of a pentahedron box shape and a jack 13 is perpendicularly attached to the wiring board 3. A tiltable coated optical fiber holding means 7 capable of holding the coated optical fiber 21 of the optical cable 20 may be disposed. When connector connection of the optical cable 20 is performed, the optical cable 20 is introduced in the box 2, the coated optical fiber 21 is subjected to extra length treatment in three dimensions and a plug 22 is attached by inserting in a jack 13. Thereby in the box 2, the plug 22 can be inserted in or can be pulled out of the jack 13 with ease by using a space in front of the wiring board. The freedom of dealing with the coated optical fiber 21 of the optical cable 20 increases by three-dimensional excess length treatment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
