PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing and using ferrocoke, capable of solving a problem of a conventional technique for producing the ferrocoke and capable of using the ferrocoke as highly-reactive coke. PSOLUTION: This method for producing and using the ferrocoke has a step for heating coal and iron ore as raw materials and forming the raw materials in a hot state into a block-shaped product, another step for subjecting the block-shaped product to dry distillation with a shaft kiln-type heat treatment furnace 17 by a direct heating process in which a hot blast is used, so as to form the ferrocoke in which a partially reduced powdery iron source is enclosed, and the other step for feeding a blast furnace 16 with the formed ferrocoke.
