PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide wear resistant steel having superior weldability and excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance in a weld zone and applicable to the industrial machine parts, fixtures, etc., which are used under dew condensation corrosive environments or indoor environments or further outdoor air environments and required of wear resistance, and also to provide its manufacturing method.;SOLUTION: The steel has a composition which contains, by mass, 0.03 to 0.3% C, 0.01 to 3.0% Si, 3.0 to 10.0% Mn, ≤0.03% P, ≤0.01% S, 4 to 9% Cr, 0.1 to 5% Al and 0.02% N and further selectively contains one or two kinds among 0.01 to 9% Cu, 0.01 to 9% Ni, 0.01 to 0.5% Mo, 0.01 to 0.2% V, 0.005 to 0.050% Nb, 0.004 to 0.2% Ti, 0.0005 to 0.010% B, 0.0005 to 0.05% Ca, 0.0005 to 0.05% Mg and 0.001 to 0.1% REM and in which the value of Tp represented by equation Tp=1601-(34%Cr+287%Al)+(33%Mn+60%Cu+107% Ni) is made to 1,150 to 1,400.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
