PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diagnosing method for the lifetime and the life expectancy of rotor blades installed in a steam turbine.;SOLUTION: The diagnosing method for the lifetime of any rotor blade the steam turbine caused by a local corrosive damage works through such processes that the local corrosion depths of the local corrosive damages generated in the rotor blade are subjected to a sampling measurement, the ultimate value of the local corrosion depth of the local corrosive damage is presumed using the ultimate value statistic process on the basis of the result from sampling measurement, and that the operation time until the local corrosion depth reaches the allowable local corrosion depth when the rotor blade goes in breakage is determined and it is judged as the lifetime on the basis of the assumption that local corrosion depth deepens proportionally from the time when the steam turbine started operating.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
