PURPOSE: To provide a motor-driven type range change-over device for an automatic transmission which can eliminate the impossible or wrong detection of detect retraction (self traveling), and clearly judge the detent retraction. ;CONSTITUTION: An electric range change-over device is provided with a speed reduction device interlocking with a motor 2 driven by a range selecting switch 41; a manual shaft 5 connected to the speed reduction device 3; and a detent mechanism which is attached to the manual shaft to control a manual valve. The device is moreover provided with a means which compares the variation rate of the output value of a valve position sensor 23 to detect the variation of the rotational position of the detent mechanism with a predetermined reference value to judge the position of the manual shaft 5 for controlling the motor 2; a means for comparing the output value of the valve position sensor 23 with the output value of the valve position sensor 23 at a target range position; and a means for duty controlling the driving voltage of the motor 2 in the case where the output value of the valve position sensor 23 is judged to be near the output value of the valve position sensor 23 at the target range position.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
