PURPOSE: To obtain an inorganic powder which is free from aggregation and excellent in mixability with a resin by coating an inorganic powdery material with a specific coating fluid comprising a partial hydrolyzate of an alkoxysilane as the base. ;CONSTITUTION: A liquid comprising a partial hydrolyzate of an alkoxysilane as the base, a curing catalyst, and water in an amount which theoretically suffices to completely hydrolyze the hydrolyzate is regulated so as to have a pH of 3 or lower and then aged. Water is added thereto to obtain a coating liquid. Tetramethoxysilane is preferred as the alkoxysilane, because it tenaciously adheres to an inorganic powder. The hydrolyzate preferably has a monomer content of 1wt.% or lower. Examples of the inorganic powder to be used include calcium carbonate, aluminum hydroxide, natural silica, synthetic silica, and a magnetic powder.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
