PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make research of diameter, number and configuration of standing timber in a forest stand efficient without depending on human hand operation.;SOLUTION: An image processing method for obtaining tree data from graphic image of forest stand comprises dividing the forest stand to be researched into a plurality of square lands, providing eight photographing points by wide angle cameras having 90° field angle every divided each land, redundantly photographing the forest stand from each photographing points, reading photographed image data into a personal computer, carrying out image processing by using software built in the personal computer and displaying diameters, number and configuration of trees to be researched on a screen, a printer, etc., of the personal computer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
