PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the methods and devices which can constitute a freely movable stroll space with presence, retrieve its image contents, and extract an object with high precision. SOLUTION: Photography point information wherein all-directional photographs at a specific position in an actual space and position information are made to correspond to each other is generated by using an all-directional photography point information input means 1 and stored in an all-directional photography point information storage means 3. Then when a position and a gaze direction in a stroll space are inputted from a user, a stroll image reproducing means 4 retrieves and reproduces a corresponding photograph image from the all- directional photography point information storage means 3. The input of the user position and gaze direction and the reproduction by the stroll image reproducing means 4 are repeated to display images of corresponding positions one after another as the user moves and images of corresponding directions one after another when the user changes the gaze direction. Further, feature quantities are extracted from images, etc., in the storage means 3 to generate a data base and a similarity comparison based upon feature quantities of images, etc., are made to retrieve image contents.
