PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new fine carbon particles in a nanometer order, a method for manufacturing the particles, and a transparent conductive polymer composite material containing the particles. PSOLUTION: The new carbon nanoparticles have such features that the carbon atoms constituting the particle are coupled to form a graphite structure and that the particles are of 1 to around 50 nm particle size, preferably 1 to 10 nm, and in the form of spheres, rods or the like. The invention further presents a method for manufacturing the above particles and a polymer composite material which keeps transparency although it contains the above particles and which shows high conductivity or both of high conductivity and ferromagnetic characteristics.
