PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain acicular magnetic alloy particles and power, which contain iron as a main component and can be dispersed in a vehicle in a superior state, without being affected by the grinding or surface states of the particles and powder, and at the same time, are improved in orientation property and filling property in a coating film. SOLUTION: Acicular magnetic alloy particles and powder are prepared and the pH values of aqueous suspensions respectively obtained by treatment methods A and B described in the pH value measuring method of JIS K5101 measured by the pH measuring method described in JIS Z8802 satisfy the relation, (pH value of a filtrate obtained with the treatment method A)-(pH value of another filtrate obtained with the treatment method B)0. The particles and powder are composed mainly of iron particles and a powder, having an average major-axis diameter of 0.05-0.2 μm.
