PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten communication time in the double-sided transmission of book manuscripts. PSOLUTION: When a manuscript rest is provided, and book manuscripts are to be subjected to double-sided transmission, pages that are instructed not to be transmitted by a user are set to be entire blank pages or blank pages other than a certain region or are not transmitted at a transmission side, and communication is completed without errors on the receiver side, even if there are pages that cannot be transmitted. Additionally, a movement method of a read sensor is changed depending on which side of the left or right of the manuscript rest is instructed that transmission is not necessary.
