PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content duplication management system convenient for a user in a home network while protecting the right of a copyright owner for the duplication and use of a content. PSOLUTION: This content duplication management system comprises a content reproduction device for making the management request of the content and reproducing the acquired content, and a content duplication management device for managing the duplication and erasing of the content. The content reproduction device reports its own group information to acquire the permission or non-permission of the request from the content duplication management device, and performs the duplication and erasing of the content. The content duplication management device determines whether the content reproduction device belongs to the group or not, and determines and reports the duplicate permission and rejection based on the group internal residual number and group external residual number that are the residual numbers permitting the duplication of the content to devices in and out of the group.
