PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition having high storage stability, a wear-resistant coating film excellent in adhesion obtained using the coating composition, and a method for manufacturing the coating film. PSOLUTION: The coating composition comprises a mixture of a layered organic-inorganic composite 10, comprising a laminated product of a tetrahedron structure layer and an octahedron structure layer where at least a part of central atoms M' of the tetrahedron structure is covalently bonded to an organic group R containing or not containing a polymerizable functional group, with a titanium alkoxide. The wear-resistant coating film has after cured an organic crosslinking 6, formed by polymerization of the polymerizable functional group in the layered organic-inorganic composite with the polymerizable functional group in another layered organic-inorganic composite neighboring thereupon, and an inorganic crosslinking 7 formed by a reaction of the titanium alkoxide, reacted with and bonded to a hydroxy group at the edge part of the tetrahedron structure and/or the octahedron structure in the layered organic-inorganic composite, with the titanium alkoxide reacted with and bonded to a hydroxy group at the edge part of the tetrahedron structure and/or the octahedron structure in another layered organic-inorganic composite neighboring thereupon.
