The matters to be selected charged onto an upper step part 7 of the member for diffusion in the width direction 6 from a belt conveyor 5 are roughly divided into three parts at the upper step part 7 of the member for diffusion in the width direction 6, further are diffused in a lateral direction at a lower step part 8 of the member for diffusion in the width direction 6 and drop onto the inclined screen 2.
