PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous dispersion of gold having excellent dispersion stability of gold even at a high gold concentration, a method for producing the dispersion, a method for producing an aqueous dispersion of gold, a method for producing an O/W-type emulsion of gold and an ink for ink-jet recording having excellent dispersion stability and surely reproducing the gold color.;SOLUTION: The non-aqueous dispersion of gold contains fine particles of gold and a compound expressed by general formula (I); HS(CH₂)_n-A (A is a hydrophilic group; and (n) is an integer of 1-12). The method for the production of the non-aqueous dispersion of gold contains (1) a step to mix a water phase composed of an aqueous solution of chloroauric acid with an organic phase composed of a hydrophobic organic solvent solution of a tetraalkyl ammonium salt, (2) a step to add the compound expressed by general formula (I), (3) a step to add a reducing agent to the system and (4) a step to separate the water phase from the organic phase.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
