PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an antibacterial/deodorizing polyester resin or an antibacterial/deodorizing polyurethane resin.;SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the antibacterial/deodorizing polyester resin or the antibacterial/deodorizing polyurethane resin uses as the raw material a polyhydric alcohol containing the fine particles which have an average particle diameter of less than 500 nm and are constituted with an antibacterial/deodorizing metal component and an inorganic oxide exclusive of the antibacterial/deodorizing metal component. The polyhydric alcohol used is selected from ethylene glycol (EG), polyethylene glycol (PEG), propylene glycol (PG), polyoxytetramethylene glycol (PTMG), polyoxyalkylene polyol (PAG), or the like. The antibacterial/deodorizing polyester resin or the antibacterial/deodorizing polyurethane resin has an antibacterial component dispersed respectively in a polyester resin or polyurethane resin highly and uniformly without flocculation, and has a high antibacterial property and little discoloration and also is excellent in the transparency and light resistance.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
