OPTICAL PICKUP DEVICE, OPTICAL DISK DRIVE AND METHOD FOR DETECTING TRACKING ERROR SIGNAL

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device superior in detection of a tracking error signal. PSOLUTION: The device is provided with: a light source (1); a focusing means (4) for focusing the laser beams emitted from the light source onto an optical disk; a division means (3) for dividing with the diameter of 0-th order light, an overlap area where the 0-th order light and the symmetrical first order light overlap relative to the 0-th order light out of the light reflected from the optical disk and dividing, by the diameter and a radius orthogonal with the diameter, a non-overlap area where the 0-th order light and the first order light do not overlap; and a detection means (5) which independently detects the reflected light in a division area divided by the division means.
