PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an adhesive spacer for a liquid crystal display having not only excellent adhesion property with a substrate but excellent wet spraying property by constituting the spacer of adhesive particles each comprising the particle body and an adhesive layer coating the particle surface, and fine particles deposited on the adhesive layer. ;SOLUTION: This adhesive spacer 8 contains an adhesive particles and fine particles. The adhesive particle consists of a particle body and an adhesive layer covering the particle surface. The fine particles are deposited on the adhesive layer. Upper and lower electrode substrates 120, 110 are laminated with the adhesive spacer 8 in such a manner that an electrode 5 and an orienting film 4 faces each other, and the laminated substrates are heated at 150°C for 30min under 1kg/cm2 pressure to heat and harden an adhesive sealing material 2. Then the space between the two electrode substrates 120, 110 is evacuated and then returned to atmospheric pressure. An STN liquid crystal 7 is injected into the space and the injection port is sealed.
