PURPOSE: To prolong the time of continuous operation of a cross-knitting machine to a great extent easily by allowing a nylon-6 flat yarn for cross- knitting to meet the specific relations between one-traverse yarn length, winding width, and traversing angle. ;CONSTITUTION: A drum-shaped package is formed by winding a nylon-6 flat yarn for cross-knitting to fabricate a cross-knit type stocking, wherein such conditions should be met that 1.35≥A0.75, 120≥B≥4, and 1.5×[(B/20)+2]≥C≥B/20+2, where A is one-traverse yarn length, B is winding width, and C is traversing angle. Thereby the time of continuous operation of a cross-knitting machine can be prolonged to a great extent while good quality as knit material and the knit rise property are maintained which are required of a knit material for stockings.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
