PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problems wherein many storage device resources are consumed and it is required to manage information in duplicate because it is required to separately store a copy of an original image in a storage device when an image is stored or an image is received / given from / to another party. PSOLUTION: When concealing an image, one or more concealed area images are segmented from an original image, a concealment-processed image is generated by compositing an altered image with the original image whose concealed area images are segmented and a digital watermark produced on the basis of the concealed area images is embedded to the concealment-processed image. Further, in the case of restoring the image, the digital watermark is extracted form the concealment-processed image, the concealed area images are acquired on the basis of the extracted digital watermark, the altered image is segmented from the concealment-processed image, and the original image is restored by compositing the concealed area images with the concealment-processed image whose altered image is segmented.
