PURPOSE: To provide a remote observation device for microscopic images excellent in operability by displaying an area of interest as an dynamic image and an image related to the dynamic image as a still image. ;CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a microscope 104, an image pickup means 103 picking up an observed image by the microscope, converting it into an electrical signal and outputting it, a transmission means 101 transmitting an output image signal from the image pickup means, and a receiving side system 106 receiving the output image transmitted from the transmission means 101; and the output image is observed on the receiving side. The receiving side system 106 is provided with a storage means receiving and storing a still image signal transmitted from the transmission means side, a selection means selecting the specified still image from the still image stored in the storage means, a 1st display means 107 for displaying the still image selected by the selection means, and a 2nd display means 107 receiving the dynamic image transmitted from the transmission means 101 and displaying it as the dynamic image.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
