PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reduction gear for rotation and rotational motion capable of being connected with a device to be measured or a driving shaft and miniaturized especially for the sake of the device to be measured and the driving device. ;SOLUTION: This reduction gear is installed in a frame plate 10 in the form of a planetary gear together with an angle diaphragm capable of optically indicating an angle of rotation and/or the number of revolutions of the object (device) to be measured. The planetary gear consists of an input gear 1 to be engaged with a shaft of the object to be measured, while an annular reference gear 2 neighboring an input gear and having teeth on its inside is installed (fixed) in (to) the frame. A planetary gear 6 engaging with both the internal tooth of the reference gear and an internal tooth 9a of an output gear whose number of teeth is different from that of the reference gear is arranged between a pinion provided to a hub of the input gear and an internal tooth 12a of the reference gear.
