PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize IP packet transfer through an efficient route within a system in a mobile communication system connected to an IP network. ;SOLUTION: A mobile communication system 101 and the internet 109 are connected by plural packet gateways(PGW) 108a and 108b to constitute IP sub-networks 100a and 100b corresponding to the PGWs. In-zone location registers(VLR) 107a and 107b report the position information of mobile terminals (MS) 102a to 102c and the IP addresses of data terminals connected to the MSs to the PGWs and if the IP address reported to the PGW belongs to another IP sub-network, the PGW informs the PGW corresponding to another IP sub- network that the PGW itself is the transfer destination. The PGW manages the position information of the MS to which the data terminals are connected based on the reported contents and performs packet routing based on the management contents.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
