Variant of human FGF23 protein that reduces blood phosphorus level

A full-length cDNA encoding human FGF23 protein was isolated, and a mutant in which one amino acid was substituted in the cDNA was constructed by a mutagenesis method. The mutant had the effect of reducing blood phosphorus concentration by being expressed in the body. The mutant and the DNA encoding the mutant are expected to be applied to therapeutic agents for hyperphosphatemia or gene therapy.
