PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication speed control method by which communication is promptly acceptable at acceptable communication speed without re-transmission even when the unacceptable communication speed is specified from a mobile station.;SOLUTION: The communication speed control method comprises: determining whether or not the specified communication speed (a) is accepted by a contract based on the contract information of the mobile station when a switching exchange receives communication speed (a)-specified transmission request (Step S501) from the mobile station (Step S504); when the specified communication speed (a) is unacceptable, specifying the acceptable communication speed (Steps S505, S506); conducting transmission response accompanied with the notice of the specified communication speed (Step 507); starting communication by the notified communication speed b by the received mobile station (Steps S508, S509).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
