DIGITAL COPYING MACHINE AND IMAGE SCANNER

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital copying machine which realizes an off-line scanner function using a storage medium which can be inserted and removed. PSOLUTION: A user removes a memory card in which a scan job command file is stored from the user's personal computer and inserts it to a PC card slot 89. A CPU 85 analyzes the scan job command file and executes setting necessary for control circuits of an image scanner part and an ADF part and an image processing circuit 73. Original image data read are stored in a page memory 84. The CPU 85 compresses the image data stored in the page memory using a compression and expansion circuit 86, and stores the compressed image data in the memory card under the name of the image data file specified in the scan job command file.
