PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of teaching a pickup position of an electronic component, by which a teaching operation is efficiently carried out and teaching accuracy is stable. ;SOLUTION: In this method of teaching, in a tray feeder in which pallets are successively taken out from a magazine for containing pallets for holding trays to supply to a pickup position, a position where a transfer head picks an electronic component 15 from a tray 2 is taught. In this case, an array position of the electronic component 15 on the tray 2 is detected by recognizing characteristic points (a recognition mark 15c or corner points 15a and 15b) of the electronic component 15 stored in a tray 2 on the pallet 3 which is taken out.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
