Intelligent commutation pulse detection system for controlling a DC motor for use in an automobile accessory

PURPOSE: To reduce errors, corresponding to a seat position memory operation by providing a controller provided with routines for impressing an adjustment factor to output signals, so as to correct inaccuracies in the detection of control signals. ;CONSTITUTION: After respective commutation pulses have been detected, the duration of a new pulse interval is calculated by subtracting the time of generating a last pulse from the present time. Then, the new pulse duration is compared with an average pulse interval. When the new pulse interval is larger than 150% of the average pulse interval, a check pulse routine counts the two pulses, so as to supplement an overlooked pulse. Otherwise, the routine simply counts one pulse. Thus, the controller decides when the pulse is overlooked and then counts the pulse which has been overlooked.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
