Air pollution measuring device and quantitative sampling device

PURPOSE: To enable taking accurate measurements using small amounts of reagents by allowing a certain amount of air to pass through a pipe, sampling a certain amount of a pollutant-absorbing reagent that is provided in such a way as to be able to make contact with the air, and measuring air pollution from the state of the reagent. ;CONSTITUTION: An absorbing liquid containing a pollutant-absorbing reagent is put in an absorbing liquid container 3 with the valves 22, 24 of a sampling portion 20 closed, and is packed in a Teflon tube 2 inside a pipe 1. The piston part of an air sucking portion 10 is moved to suck in a certain amount of air, and the pipe 1 is filled with air from an air intake 4. The air is contacted with the absorbing liquid via the air permeable tube 2 so that pollutants are absorbed into the absorbing liquid. By opening the valve 22 of the sampling portion 20 the absorbing liquid in the tube 2 is sampled into the sampling portion 20, and through the detection of its state the amounts of the pollutants collected are calculated by means of colorimetry and measurements of electric characteristics and of scattering of light, etc. Thus the concentrations of the pollutants in the air can be measured with accuracy.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
