PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating and recovering bismuth and copper or the like as valuables from a cuprous oxide and bismuth-containing object to be treated produced in a nonferrous refining process. SOLUTION: In this method for separating and recovering copper or the like and bismuth from a cuprous oxide and bismuth-containing object to be treated, the cuprous oxide and bismuth-containing object to be treated is leached with a sulfuric acid of 50 to 200 g/L as first leaching to elute copper, arsenic, nickel or the like, thereafter, the sulfuric acid leaching residue is leached with hydrochloric acid of 2 to 3 M/L as second leaching to elute bismuth.
