PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a crimped composite yarn having a soft bulky feeling without a core body and stiffness, and further having a proper stretch further to obtain a composite yarn capable of providing a woven or knitted fabric, and to provide the woven or knitted fabric composed thereof. ;SOLUTION: This long and short fiber composite yarn is obtained by combining (A) a conjugated filament yarn comprising at least two kinds of polyester polymers having different heat shrinkage characteristics and having crimp- manifesting ability, and (B) a short fiber, in a twisted state. The composite yarn has a structure constituted so that the conjugated filament yarn A may be positioned at a comparatively inner layer and manifests a coil-like three- dimensional crimp, and the short fiber B which is the other combined partner may be positioned at a comparatively outer layer. The woven or knitted fabric is suitable not only for a heavy wear such as a jacket, but also for a use field for a light wear such as a blouse, and can provide a comfortable wearing feeling having a light feeling and stretching properties and a high-class feeling providing good appearance when the fabric is sewed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
